How do I make money transfers?

How do I receive money transfers?

In order to receive a money transfer, you should:

Provide the unique reference number of the transfer. Depending on the rules of the transfer system, you might be required to name the sum of the transfer.

For each transfer, the system generates a unique reference number, which the sender should communicate to the recipient. In order to receive the transfer, the recipient should, among other things, give the reference number.

Send and receive the money within minutes. Many countries are covered worldwide. There is no need to open a bank account.

15 minutes is the longest time for you to make your transfer via MoneyGram. The sum will be available for receipt within 90 calendar days. If the recipient does not appear during the mentioned period, the transfer will be archived and in order to receive or cancel it, you should contact the MoneyGram Contact Center.

Note that after 5 years have passed from the date of transfer, the sum will no longer be available.

FAQ

Who is eligible for money transfers? Are there any age restrictions?

Only people aged 18 and older are eligible for sending and receiving money transfers through MoneyGram.

In what currency are commissions charged?

Commissions are charged in AMD at the Central Bank exchange rate effective on that day. The amount of commissions for MoneyGram  transfers depends on the amount and destination of the transfer. Commissions for no-address transfers are charged in accordance with the rates for rapid money transfers for individuals.


Can I cancel my transfer and get the money back?

If you want to cancel the transfer and get the money back, we shall make an inquiry to check whether it has been paid to the recipient or not. If the recipient has not yet received the payment, you need to fill out a refund application form. Paid commissions are not refundable unless otherwise envisaged under the rules of the transfer system. You will get the money back when it is returned by the intermediary bank.

What should I do if after making a transfer, I realized that it contains wrong information?

If you would like to modify the transfer after it has been sent, and the money has not been yet received by the recipient, you should fill in the transfer modification form [1], indicating the data to be edited. Each money transfer system defines its own rules for editing transfers. Unless otherwise envisaged by the policies of the money transfer system or receiving bank, changes in the transfer data are formalized within 1 banking day after submission of your application, provided the amount has not been paid to the recipient yet.

Where does the money go, if the recipient does not receive it immediately?

MoneyGram transfers are available for recipients within 90 calendar days. If the recipient has not received the amount within the mentioned period, the transfer will be archived and in order to receive or cancel it, you should contact the MoneyGram Contact Center. After 5 years have passed from the date of transfer, the amount will no longer be available.
