What to do first?

To sign up for brokerage services, just visit any branch of Ameriabank. Our brokerage specialist will give you the consultation you need by phone or personally, if you visit our head office, after which you can proceed to opening of a brokerage account. 

What documents do I have to provide for opening of a brokerage account?

If you are a client of Ameriabank, your passport or ID card will be sufficient to open a brokerage account 

Does any service fee apply?

To place an order for a brokerage transaction, you need to call +374-10-513170 or +374-10-513169 and specify the transaction requisites or send the completed form  to the email address brokerage@ameriabank.am.

What is the brokerage account currency?

We open a brokerage account in USD. If you buy securities in other currency, the respective amount available on your brokerage account will be exchanged for the respective currency at the then-effective market rate.

Will I be charged service fees?

A brokerage account is opened free of charge, without any service fee. You will only pay commission for executed transactions. Besides brokerage services, you will be using custodial services as well. An annual fee of AMD 5000 will be charged at the end of each respective period.

How much of initial investment do I need?

There is no fixed minimum deposit for brokerage services, except Forex operations, where, according to Regulation 4/07 of the Central Bank of Armenia, the minimum deposit for resident clients is the USD equivalent of AMD 5 million, and the minimum deposit for non-resident clients is the USD equivalent of AMD 2.5 million.

How do I top up my brokerage account?

You can top up a brokerage account: 

a) online via Internet-Bank or Mobile Banking, by making a transfer from your settlement account to your brokerage account; 

b) by visiting any branch of Ameriabank; 

c) by making a transfer from your account held with another bank to your brokerage account. 

Can I make foreign currency transactions?

To make foreign currency transactions, you need to be qualified as a professional client. To become a professional client, you should meet at least two of the following conditions:

  •        You have executed 10 or more transactions in the most recent 4 quarters (with at least 1 mln AMD as the average transaction amount). 
  • Your securities portfolio is above AMD 100 mln. 
  • You have minimum 2 years of professional experience at the financial market.

Currently, foreign currency transactions are temporarily unavailable

THE CLIENT BEARS THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH INVESTMENT SERVICES. The bank SHALL NOT REIMBURSE losses incurred by the Client, unless such losses are caused by negligent or unethical conduct on the part of the Bank.

The Client has the right to correspond with the Bank via the channel preferred by the Client – by regular or electronic mail.

Ameriabank can request clients to provide additional information or documents, as well as ask additional questions during interviews, in pursuit of Know Your Customer practices required under the Law of the Republic of Armenia On Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing.
