Hovhannes Toroyan

Born on October 28, 1984, in Yerevan.
Hovhannes graduated from Anania Shirakatsy Lyceum in 2001. In 2001-2007, he attended Yerevan State University with Mathematical Methods and Simulation of Economy as the major and graduated with Master’s degree in Economics. In 2008-2010, he studied at Binghamton University (USA) and received the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA). In 2010, Hovhannes completed the postgraduate program of Yerevan University of Economics with a dissertation on Relative Efficiency Estimates of Financial Institutions’ Performance with Financial-Mathematical Methods and was awarded with PhD degree in Economics. Besides, he has attended a number of professional training courses, including those held at Harvard, Columbia, Skolkovo and other universities. Hovhannes is the author of various research papers and publications; he has numerous professional awards. Also, Hovhannes is involved in various social initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life.
Hovhannes Toroyan started his career during his student years. Having worked at the Department of Reports and Analysis of Converse Bank for about two years, he pursued professional growth at the Central Bank of Armenia, followed by ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, at the same time lecturing at Yerevan State University. Hovhannes continued education in the USA and then worked at the International Monetary Fund for some time. After that, he moved to Armenia and has been employed at Ameriabank since 2010. Over those years, Hovhannes has also acted as a Lecturer and Expert Consultant on various platforms. Prior to assuming the role of the CFO, he was responsible for strategy, assets and liabilities management, financial institutions, research and analyses. Hovhannes has been a member of different collegial bodies of the Bank. In October, 2022 he was also appointed member of the Management Board of Ameriabank.
