Ameriabank and The Matenadaran Sign a Memorandum under the “Homecoming of Manuscripts” Project
Ameriabank and The Matenadaran have signed a memorandum of cooperation under “The Homecoming of Manuscripts” project. By signing the memorandum, Ameriabank became the first private sector company in Armenia to join the mission of collecting Armenian manuscripts.
This cooperation is the logical extension of Ameriabank’s large-scale campaign “My Ameria, My Armenia” launched at the end of last year; on the other hand, it is a new beginning, whereby the Bank reaffirms its responsibility, respect and care towards Armenia and the Armenian heritage.
The Bank has allotted a fund which enables The Matenadaran to acquire valuable Armenian manuscripts offered at auctions or sold by individuals around the world, to ensure access to them, preserve them in Armenia, publicize and put them into scientific circulation. With Ameriabank’s funding, 2 manuscripts and 10 miniatures of significant historical, cultural and scientific value have already been donated to The Matenadaran (details available in the video).
The Matenadaran and Ameriabank will continue this important cooperation under “The Homecoming of Manuscripts” Project, encouraging and inspiring existing and potential customers to unite around the important mission of preserving the identity, heritage, and values of the Armenian people. Under this initiative, from February 20, 2025 Ameriabank will grant Premium status for indefinite period to everyone who donates to Matenadaran manuscripts or other items of historical and cultural value worth at least AMD 4 million and Partner status to those who donate items worth at least AMD 20 million. The Matenadaran will also offer a number of benefits to donors.
